LIKE MANY, A DIFFICULT START...
Ā
Early on, it was difficult. Ā At 17, David became the youngest franchisee of Student Painters in the summer of 1992. Ā Although he quickly adopted the organization's systems, he, unfortunately, had someĀ majorĀ setbacks. Ā
That summer, he had to leave the family home because of a major disagreement with his mother, which had an impact on his entrepreneurial success. Ā These dramatic family and business failures stimulated an intense desire to one day launch a profitable business that he would be proud of, despite the personal and professional difficulties experienced.
NEITHER WAS LEAVING THE CORPO WORLD...
Ā
After ten years in the corporate world, following a company buyout, David came across an innovative food packaging solution and founded Solpak at the age of 31.
Using his garage as a warehouse and his unfinished basement as an office, he takes care of everything, absolutely everything. From finding new customers for his product that no one had heard of, to taking and delivering orders, to managing budgets and financial statements, David has his plate full... It will take him 4 years to finally be able to pay himself a salary equal to what he was receiving in the corpo world. Constant overtime, recurring cash flow issues, no success in sight. Was the corporate world the only avenue that paid off after all?
He decides to completely change his approach and transform his company. He studied all the management methods and systems to improve his lot, compiled and documented his research on what worked best. He invested thousands of dollars in training, conferences and coaching in the years that followed. He develops his own method, adapted for small and medium-sized businesses.
ENJOYING
#BUSINESS FREEDOM
Ā
He shares his discoveries with fellow entrepreneurs who feel equally overwhelmed. A friend from France even tells him that, a few months later, he applied a trick he discussed to spend more time with the family. Partners and suppliers comment on the impressive efficiency of his organization with such a small team.
One major client mentioned that they could use Solpak's great marketing team to help them, not realizing that Solpak doesn't have a marketing team, only a loyal and competent outside resource. Many customers also comment on the competence and excellent service that exceeds what they have experienced with other suppliers in the industry.
Over 97% of customers would recommend Solpak to others. According to Officevibe, the Solpak team scores at 70, a feat when compared to what happens in over 80 countries.
All this without needing David to be constantly present and with an amazing team following systems stemming for the SHERPA Method.
